Boston terror suspect, planned to attack mall, others

Tarek Mehanna, 27, of Sudbury, Massachusetts, traveled overseas, sought training from the Taliban, wanted to kill U.S. soldiers in Iraq and hoped to kill one or two members of the executive branch of the U.S. government, said Michael K. Loucks, the acting U.S. attorney for Massachusetts.

Mehanna was arrested last year for lying to the FBI about his participation in terrorist acts and not divulging information.

CNN is reporting that Mehanna and co-conspirators planned trips overseas to try to join training camps and kill American soldiers. Mehanna and others traveled to Pakistan, Iraq, Syria and Yemen and sought training from groups including the Taliban.

They also planned to attack at least one U.S. shopping mall, Loucks said, but that did not happen because they couldn't obtain the assault weapons they wanted, he said. He didn't name the mall.

Loucks said the men had planned to assault multiple entrances of the mall, and had determined the steps they would take when first responders arrived.

McNair final hours revealed

Whew! The news that is unraveling from the McNair/Kazemi murder-suicide is something else. The AP in Nashville is reporting that they have tracked text messages from Kazemi and McNair's cell phones prior to the deaths.

About 50 msgs were released Monday night, and this is what they said, according to the Associated Press in Nashville.

“…Sahel Kazemi (sah-HEHL’ kah-ZEE’-mee) texted McNair on July 3 to say she was so stressed she might have a breakdown and asked for $2,000 to pay bills. One text said she might need to go to a hospital because she could hardly breathe.

Police say texts show McNair had someone transfer the money. The texts also show Kazemi meeting McNair at the Nashville condominium where he was shot. He asked her to leave the front door open for him

Kazemi’s texts to McNair talk of her showing furniture she planned to sell to some people and how she was at a store “trying to fix” her phone. She wanted to pay bills before going to work. When she said she could hardly breathe, McNair asked if she wanted him to come over. She said she would take a nap.

McNair texted her that afternoon, saying he had someone transfer the money.

Kazemi, later texted McNair three times asking to be with him that night. He said he was having trouble getting his sons to sleep. But at that time, McNair was seen at a restaurant with friends. Kazemi texted she was going to his condo. He texted back at 12:38 a.m. that he was on his way and asked her to open the front door at 12:52 a.m. Kazemi told him at 1:14 a.m. it was open…”

These text messages reveal what I already knew already, it reveals that McNair bit off more than he could chew by getting involved with another woman.

He had wined and dined Kazemi and filled her poor little mind up with lies, saying that he was going to divorce his wife!

Kazemi couldn't take anymore, her life was falling apart, McNair was still married and had no intentions on leaving his wife, and above all that he was sleeping with other women.

I wish the outcome of this story was different, but, unfortunately its not. This is just terrible.

Beware of Social Networking thieves

Your personal information is not as safe and secure as you might have thought. Cyber thieves are rapidly hijacking social networking sites of innocent users.

CNN is reporting that 3,200 users have reported account hijacking since 2006 to the Internet Crime Complaint Center, a partnership between the FBI, the National White Collar Crime Center and the Bureau of Justice Assistance.

Here's the logistics: BE AWARE OF LINKS SENT TO YOUR EMAIL ON THESE ACCOUNTS. It starts off as a simple email, within this email a link is attached and its purpose is for you to click on it. Once your inside the site, your suppose to give all your personal contact information in order for you to receive whatever the website is offering you.

It's known as a phishing attack or malware, phishing can infiltrate users' accounts without their consent.

Once the account is compromised, the thieves can infiltrate the list of friends or contacts and repeat the attack on subsequent victims, according to CNN.com. Social networking sites show there is ample opportunity to find more victims; the average Facebook user has 120 friends on the site.

The best advice I can give a social networking user is to beaware of what you click on and who its sent from before you click.

Also, if your on Facebook, hey have developed a automated system that can detect compromised accounts. They spot and freeze accounts that are sending high numbers of messages to their friends.

Another very important tip is to double check URL's. This can prevent you from entering into a phony site.

Balloon incident, is a hoax

Apparently, the 'balloon boy' incident was just a hoax and now authorities in Fort Collins, Colorado quite possibly may press charges against the parents of Falcon Heene.

If the incident was a hoax, the only charge local authorities could press would be making a false report to authorities -- a Class 3 misdemeanor, according to CNN.

The incident unraveled when footage was released on Thursday depicting a massive balloon floating in the sky. Inside that balloon was supposed to be Falcon who weighs 37 pounds.

It ended when Falcon climbed down from the attic above the garage at the family's home, according to CNN.

His parents Richard and Mayumi Heene have been subjected to media scrutiny since the balloon took off. However, the funk didn’t hit the fan until the little boy expressed on national television that he thought the purpose of the incident was to gain notoriety.

CNN, reported today that the Heene's met in acting school and also that Mr. Heene was plotting this event to gain some sort of media coverage with his name smeared all over it.

Some of you may have also seen the Heene's on ABC's "Wife Swap." The Heene's have also released videos of storm chasing and online activies.

Baby falls at train station

A 6-month-old baby survived after his stroller rolled off a railway station platform and into the path of an incoming train, according to CNN.com.

This incident happened yesterday at Ashburton railway station in Melbourne, Australia, the footage was captured by CCTV.

The baby's mother let go of the stroller, then moments later the stroller rolls over the edge of the platform. To make matters worse, a train then pulls into the station.

After being dragged 30 meters (33 yards) further up the track, before the train came to a halt, the baby in the stroller survived, according to CNN.com.

The baby was immediately rushed to Melbourne's Royal Children's Hospital but was later discharged.

Ironically, this incident happened just a day after the launch of a public awareness campaign warning of the dangers of strollers on platforms.

Victoria state police sergeant Michael Ferwerda told Channel 7 (a local news station): "Parents especially need to be vigilant especially with toddlers."

Obama administration closes on fiscal 2009

The Obama administration on Friday said the government ran a $1.42 trillion deficit in fiscal year 2009, according to CNN.com.

With these numbers, 2009 has been one of the worse years since WWII, according to data from the Treasury and the White House Office of Management and Budget.

Tax receipts for the year fell 16.6% overall, while spending soared 18.2% compared to fiscal year 2008. The causes: rising unemployment, the economic slowdown and the extraordinary measures taken by lawmakers to stem the economic meltdown that hit in fall 2008.Consequently, the annual deficit rose 212% to the record dollar amount of $1.42 trillion, from $455 billion a year earlier, according to CNN.com

September 30 was the end of the fiscal year.

Interracial couple can't get married in Louisiana

Justice of the peace for Tangipahoa Parish's 8th Ward, Keith Bardwell, may have some pressure to resign after he refused to marry an interracial couple in Louisiana.

Bardwell wouldn't issue a marriage license to Beth Humphrey, 30, and her boyfriend, Terence McKay, 32, both of Hammond, LA., according to CNN.com.

The elected official told Hammond's Daily Star newspaper that he was concerned for the children who might be born of the relationship and that, in his experience, most interracial marriages don't last.

"I'm not a racist," Bardwell told the newspaper. "I do ceremonies for black couples right here in my house. My main concern is for the children."

Humphrey told CNN that she called Bardwell on October 6 to ask about getting a marriage license, and was asked by his wife whether it would be an interracial marriage. Humphrey said she was told that Bardwell does not sign off on interracial marriages.

She said the couple -- who received their marriage license October 9 from another justice of the peace in the same parish -- has reached out to an attorney to determine their next step.

What do think? Is this racist?

Fall has finally approach us, and some women could be rummaging through their closet as I type looking for a sweater or a nice jacket to put on. I've done a little research for those in need of a fall wardrobe refill. Through out my surfing I found a few websites that will be able to assist you for what you made need this fall.

Every girl needs a trendy fleece textured coat in their closet. You can purchase this exact one at forever21.com for $42.80 (XS-L)

Add a some flair to the fleece with a cute cow neck sweater from Gap.com for 49.50 (XS-2XL), complete the outfit with some dark washed jeans and a cute pair of peeped toe pumps or knee high boots. (Preferably black)

REMEMBER: Accessorize, however, keep it very minimal. No need to over do it...the coat is enough! Do simple silver studs or small hoops with a few cute silver braclets. This combination would be great to wear out with friends, on a date, or to class.

Other websites that may better assist you on some style trends that will save you money are: express.com, oldnavy.com, and macys.com

The above ideas are just a quick glimpse on how you can match colors in your wardrobe and make them pop! Since it's still fall, you should try to incorporate fall colors into your style. Colors like brown, orange, and burgundy are really nice and can be worn with khaki, jeans, and black.
